Color me blue

Color me Blue – Part 7 of a 9 part poem on mixed media

Blue is the color of hope. Hope is one of the three eternal treasures available to all mankind.

Hope that is seen is no hope at all.

Like the wind. You don’t see it, but you know it’s there.

Like the Spirit of God. You can’t see Him, but He’s there.

One can hope, because they have faith, and along with that faith comes peace and tranquility.

Yes, that’s what blue feels like. Peace that passes all understanding and tranquility of mind and spirit.

Have you ever felt blue? What does blue feel like to you?

Freedom & Slavery (double cinquain)

Freedom & Slavery

Do you think that allowing yourself to be enslaved to someone kind of goes against the idea of freedom?

As a Christian, I believe that freedom comes from living within boundaries that were made for my protection. I used to think Christians lived such boring lives. I also used to think that they were just religious freaks, following a bunch of rules, and having no fun. Little did I know (at the time) that I was the one that was imprisoned. I believed a lie.

I believe I have freedom now. Freedom to be all that I was created to be. Freedom to say no to that which will harm me. Freedom to live within healthy and safe boundaries. Ahhhhhhhhhhh.

What does ‘freedom’ mean to you? Do you believe that boundaries are needed to truly be free?

The cinquain poetry form is a 5-line, unrhymed poem. It contains 22 syllables and each line has a different syllable count:

Line 1=2 syllables, 2=4, 3=6, 4=8, 5=2.

Wholeness

Wholeness

Last week I posted a poem called, “Words, Mind, Emotions“, and shared how sometimes I find it difficult to calm my mind. I read something today that just hit me: “The world is so complex and over stimulating that you can easily lose your sense of direction“. Do you find this to be true? I do.

I began writing the above recently. It’s a song and a prayer. When I get flustered, confused, worried, etc, I come to my secret place and meet with my creator, and He seems to have a special way of just breathing peace and new life into my heart. As if He’s saying, “I know you don’t understand it all. I know that the world bombards you, screaming their ideas and thoughts. My child, you will never understand it all. Rest in me and know that I have everything under control.”

Now that’s comforting. I wouldn’t change it for the world.

How about you? Do you find this world to be complex and over stimulating? Do you ever feel like you lose your sense of direction? What do you do about it?
